Program Services
OPIATE ADDICTION
THERAPY:
Both short term
and long term
opiate treatment
services are
offered at the
clinic site.
SHORT TERM
DETOXIFICATION:
Short term
detoxification
service is a
short term
program with
prescribed
decreasing
Suboxone doses
with counseling
services and
treatment
planning. For
new clients,
this short term
treatment
program is an
introduction to
the treatment
system. In
addition, for
all clients, the
service provides
a course of
treatment to
stabilize their
drug use and to
have the
opportunity to
further explore
treatment
options. On the
day of
admission, a
physical
examination and
laboratory work
is completed. An
individual
schedule of
decreasing doses
of Suboxone is
prescribed.
The tapering
course of
medication will
continue for a
variable length
of time but
usually is
completed by 6
weeks.
Counseling is
started on the
first day with
the development
of a treatment
plan for the
duration of the
service. During
the course of
treatment, an
additional
meeting with the
counselor is
scheduled to
review progress
and to develop
additional
aftercare
plans.
LONG TERM
DETOXIFICATION:
As another
treatment
option, we are
also able to
provide a long
term
detoxification
course, up to
180 days
utilizing
methadone. This
service will
assist the
client to
achieve a
greater level of
stability and
optimize
recovery gains.
Treatment
planning and
assessment are
completed at
admission.
Counseling is
continued
through the
course of
treatment.
MAINTENANCE
SERVICES:
Methadone
maintenance
service is
offered as a
long term
treatment
program. The
client is
screened for
admission
eligibility per
State and
Federal
regulations. On
the day of
intake, the
client will have
a physical
examination for
admission. Once
on the program,
an assessment is
completed as
well as an
initial
treatment plan.
A primary
counselor is
assigned.
During the
entire course of
treatment, the
treatment plan
is updated every
60 days.
Progress in the
areas of
medical,
vocational,
educational,
family/social,
psychological
and substance
abuse are
regularly
reviewed for
achievement and
further
developing
action plans.
Tapering is
planned with
collaboration of
the medical and
counseling staff
to reinforce the
lifestyle
changes
achieved.
Drug testing is
done on a
random,
bi-monthly
basis. More
testing can be
ordered, if
necessary, for
additional
monitoring of
treatment goals.
Interventions,
both medical and
counseling, can
be initiated
using the drug
test results.
At the
dispensing
station, clients
are evaluated
for daily
appropriateness
for dosing.
Signs of drug
and/or alcohol
use are
assessed.
Clients may be
referred to the
medical
practitioner for
further
evaluation.
MEDICAL
SERVICES:
An annual
physical
examination and
laboratory work
is required for
all continuing
clients on
methadone
maintenance
services. TB
testing is done
on an annual
basis as well as
upon admission
to services.
LABORATORY
SERVICES:
The clinic
maintains an on
site laboratory
for specimen
collection and
result
reporting.
Specific
laboratory tests
are required by
State and
Federal
regulations.
Other tests may
be ordered by
the physician as
necessary.
Laboratory
results are
noted for follow
up at clinic or
through a
personal
physician. On
site drug
testing and
pregnancy
testing are
available for
immediate
information.
PSYCHIATRY:
Limited
appointments are
available for
psychiatry
services.
GROUPS:

HIV group

Groups will be
started as
needed
EXTENDED TAKE
HOME PROGRAM:
Clients who have
achieved the
higher levels of
take homes
privileges are
eligible for the
extended take
home program. A
14 day
medication
supply is given
to the client.
This program
permits more
time for the
client to engage
in positive
lifestyle and
recovery
activities apart
from the clinic
site. Drug
testing and
verification of
medication
supply are part
of the program
system.
COUNSELING:
Maintenance
program
participants are
assigned a
primary
counselor.
General case
management
issues are
handled by the
counselor.
Crisis
intervention,
general
counseling and
more in depth
therapy are also
followed by the
assigned
counselor. Post
treatment
counseling can
also be arranged
for follow up
and aftercare.
The Addiction
Severity Index,
a comprehensive
assessment tool
is utilized at
the beginning of
services for
treatment
planning,
counseling focus
and indicators
of outcome.
In short term
detoxification
treatment
services,
clients meet
with the
counselor at
intake for
treatment
planning and
assessment.
During the
course of
treatment,
another
appointment is
scheduled with
the counselor or
the medical
staff for
further progress
evaluation and
post treatment
plans.
ALTERNATIVE TEST
SITE:
On a weekly
basis, an
alternative test
site for HIV is
located in the
clinic.. The
testing staff
are certified in
pre and post
test counseling.
